Mental Health is of huge importance. On campus we have AFSP, a club dedicated to mental health. This club began in 2018. The meetings are typically discussion based and seek to create a safe space for all students to talk about mental wellness. Participation is voluntary, you can attend to hear or talk about your own struggles. Everything talked about is kept confidential and stays in the room. One of the biggest events that AFSP has facilitated is Out of Darkness Suicide Prevention to raise money for suicide prevention. The walks provide support for survivors of loss at Lycoming College and the Williamsport Area. According to the current president of the club, her favorite memory was sharing her personal battle with mental health at the walk, she felt supported and grateful for the opportunity´. If you would like a safe space to share your struggles, think about attending a meeting. If you would like more information, check out their instagram: @lycoafsp
