Homecoming: it may now be overshadowed by Halloween’s impending events, but let’s not forgot the highlights from it. One of homecoming’s major highlights was Hall Crawl on the night of October 2nd.

The event was surprisingly held in Pennington Lounge as in past years it has situated on 700 College Place or in the Keiper Recreation Center.

Hall Crawl is an event where clubs and organizations can sell food or merchandise to students. Most clubs sell food as it’s an easy way to entice people to buy things, especially hungry college students. However, clubs that sold merchandise earn the gratitude of the less hunger motivated individuals, who want something that they can have in order to remember the day or the club.

Hall Crawl also featured its annual contest with donuts being the food of choice. Contestants were tasked with eating a whole donut without the usage of their hands. Whoever ate theirs the fastest would be the winner and Student Senate would reward them with a prize. While not that many participated in the eating contest this year, the crowd surrounding it was large and teeming with excitement.

Overall, the event is a great way for the college’s organizations to earn some money at the beginning of the year and, for some clubs, its easier than fundraising on their own due to the name recognition of Hall Crawl.

The event also allows for clubs to possibly gain more recognition on campus and even some new members that may have missed the opportunity to learn about the club during the Campus Carnival in August.
