Hispanic Heritage in the Dining Hall
On Monday, September 28 the Wertz dining hall teamed up with L.A.S.O for Hispanic Heritage month. The idea was that the dining hall would be making some basic Hispanic food that will celebrate the heritage of Hispanics. The food that they decided to do were some tacos and a tres leches cake as a desert. Personally, I enjoyed the effort, but I was a little disappointed with it.
I asked a few other Hispanic people on their thoughts about the food: What did you think of the food Wertz made for Hispanic Heritage Month?
“I was disappointed. Took one bite and stopped eating. The tres leches cake was very dry. I appreciate them trying though.” -Anonymous ’22
“Overall, I liked the idea of having Hispanic food served in the caf but there could be some improvement. The taco meat could have used some more seasoning. I felt like there was something missing from it. I added the beans that were served to my taco which I really liked the combination.” -Jasmin A. ‘22
“The beans were good, the rest not so much. I would have liked if they heated up the tortillas. The tres leches was so good.” Gricelda A. ‘23
