DiSalvo’s, located on 341 E. 4th Street near Lycoming College, has received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 2020 and has a magnificent array of Italian dishes. From the moment you enter the establishment, there is a sensational feeling of elegance and class as if walking into a ballroom. The restaurant offers seating in four stylish atmospheres: dinner room, patio, lounge or wine & spirits bar. If weather provides you the opportunity, I recommend sitting outside in the patio, taking the beautiful assortment of flowers and tranquility offered by the gated garden. All the rooms provide their own specific atmospheres, depending on the occasion for the night. The restaurant is opened from Tuesday to Thursday 5:00PM to 9:30PM, Friday to Saturday from 5:00PM to 10:00PM and Closed Sunday to Monday. Reservations are encouraged but not required.

To ensure the best experience of their delicious dishes, be sure to come with plenty of appetite to try appetizers, entrées and desserts. A few popular appetizers are: the Bruschetta, Tuscan bread with grape tomatoes, olives extra virgin and Asiago; the Gamberi, one pound pan-seared jumbo Gulf shrimp with garlic butter and San Marzano; and the Pane with Formaggio, Foccacia, Romano, Parmesan and mozzarella with herbs. If interest, try some wine from their wonderful selection or one of their house-made cocktails. Of course, the entrees are the main course, offering a range from home-made made pasta to fish to beef/lamb. Before leaving be sure to try a sharable dessert. Keep in mind that the prices are higher than fast restaurant but the experience and food are worth the price.
