On February 8, Lycoming College enjoyed its third annual celebration of all things winter! WinterFest took place in Burchfield Lounge from 1:00 to 4:00 PM with a variety of activities for all members of the college community.
WinterFest, hosted by the offices of Student Life, the Rec Center and the Campus Activities Board, included many different winter-themed things to do. Students who stopped by got to participate in games like winter-themed trivia and an air hockey tournament. There was also a curling rink set up for students to play. Additionally, students enjoyed a variety of fun snacks, like the dip bar set up by Jack’s Corner and the winter-themed s’mores dip bar set up by Jane Schultz.
WinterFest also had a Stuff a Plush station, where students could make a furry friend to take home. The activity, reminiscent of the popular stuffed animal chain Build-A-Bear Workshop, included little plush stars for students to include in their stuffing and birth certificates for their new friends.
Year after year, one of the highlights of WinterFest is the giveaway. For students who have attended previous WinterFests, this year added another fun outerwear piece to the collection. The first WinterFest had Lyco-colored WinterFest Hats and last year had matching scarves. This year, the fun item was WinterFest gloves, complete with touchscreen compatible fingertips!
Overall, this event was a successful, enjoyable time for all who stopped by. It got students in the seasonal spirit and everyone had a great time.
