The Eternals, directed by Chloé Zhao, was a movie based on the Marvel comic series called “The Eternals,” released in 1976. As The Eternals have made their debut into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we are opened to more possibilities in the universe.
The film overall was a great watch, but the story was heading in a direction that I felt was lacking compared to the other movies in the Marvel universe. The cinematography in the film was outstanding with the detailed cosmos, scene areas, and the Deviants design. Another worthy mention about this film is the diverse cast with their unique traits and personalities as well as the historical influences that the film included. Throughout the time stream, they took historical places surrounded by mysteries we are far from uncovering and gave them an ending that satisfied all.
After watching the film I happened to stop one of the audience members and asked them for a brief comment in which they said: “The movie was historically rich and visually pleasing.”- Anonymous.
However, please keep in mind that this film isn’t for everyone. Although the film is a very important asset to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and for many comic book fans since it opens up many possibilities for other future films, it is drastically different from the other movies. With its diverse cast, it can open up to many other people who aren’t overall invested in superheroes or comic books and lead the plot into a new genre. The Eternals is definitely more of a drama-based movie than one of adrenaline and thrill, so if you like romance then this is one for you.
