Homecoming weekend, a mini vacation and chance to reunite with old friends. From the beginning of the week Monday Oct. 15 to the end Saturday Oct. 20th, Lycoming College was filled with life, fun, and new experiences. Campus had an amazing volleyball game, talent show, spaghetti eating contest (Hall Crawl), inflatable bouncy houses, and golf cart decorating. All these events that led up to the final event, the Homecoming football game.
Lycoming Warriors played against Delaware Valley. The Warriors started off strong in their first quarter scoring 7 points. Unfortunately, the team lost 7 to 32; although, the Warriors lost, our spirit was actively shown and present during the events. Especially, for the entrance of our royal court. Selected by the student body the Prince was Sean Prince and the Princess was Morgan Clouser; the crowned King was Michael Ntifo and Queen was Umaya Liyanage. The king and queen entered with their fellow nominees on the back of beautiful Jeeps, that were donated by the faculty and alumni. Definitely a scene out of a movie, a “had to be there” moment.
Besides the football game, Lycoming Homecoming is known for having an exceptional tailgate giving students, teachers, and alumni the chance to get to know one another. Different organizations and individuals were given sections to have their picnic and enjoy the beautiful sunny weather. The weekend ended and thus students, faculty and alumni returned from their vacation, but we have the memories to relive a joyous event.
