Last week our alumni granted their presence at Lycoming College for homecoming. What always brings our alumni back to Lycoming college is the undeniable bond in which they experience in one way or other in their four years of college.
Through homecoming week, I interviewed some very outstanding alumni that were willingly to share some of their experiences and their wisdom of life after graduation for the upcoming graduates and students alike.
“I thought, I have all the answers… get out of Williamsport, get a job that will be deserving of my bachelor’s degree. Bouncing from job to job, eventually my little Williamsport bubble popped and I came to realize that I was not as grown up as I thought.” (Rachel Miller 2016).
Rachel Miller a 2016 graduate with a physics major, shared her experience after graduating, the difficulty of finding at job, and the harsh reality of living outside of Lycoming college. Five years later, Rachel Miller expresses that Lycoming College is fresh in her memories, and she wishes to have enjoyed it more, since it seemed that her time at college was fleeting.
“College gave me the foundation for my career, help me learn to cherish your friends.” (Lisa Steuer McArdle 2008)
Lisa Steuer McArdle, a 2008 graduate, shared her love for Lycoming College after thirteenth years of her life has passed. Lisa’s message to the upcoming graduates is that what you envision your job to be after living in college is not necessarily what your dream job will end up being.
“Take the time to enjoy every minute of your senior year that Lycoming College provides, because even after graduation, Lycoming will always be your second home where your gather the tools of your foundation to live in the real world” (Bob Martin 1995)
Bob Martin, a 1995 graduate with a political science and American history major, shared his view on Lycoming providing a second home to growth and learn, and safe wonderful memories.
