The Lyco Pom & Dance team held a bake sale this past week in the AC Foyer. The team was raising money for new uniforms, which they need quite a few of, considering the Pom & Dance team comprises three individual teams; the Pom Squad, the Dance Squad, and the Step Squad. Each team focuses on a specific type of dance, but every member pitched in to help with the bake sale.
As it was the best kind of bake sale, everything the Pom & Dance team sold was fresh and homemade, prepared and sold every day during the September 19-24 school week. Some of their items included pound cake and sugar cookies, though their most prominent day for profit baking was Wednesday when they sold chocolate-covered strawberries and chocolate cake pieces. I bought some strawberries and can confirm they were well worth the price.
Hopefully, the money they raised will go a long way in securing new uniforms for the team, as we look forward to the on-campus performances they do in the future. One of these is the set for Homecoming, where they perform during the Lyco Pep Rally, which is set for Friday, September 30th, starting at 4:30 pm.
